Lake Winnipesaukee/ Weirs Beach/ Wolfeboro: Home to summer fun, private islands, and wind-blown hair

– August 9, 2018 –

Holy B A L L S … it’s August?? Long time no see, blog friends<3 missed you all lots!!

This week, I’ll be touring some places in New England for blog content!! I hope to get a couple pieces up before university starts and I move in!! I’ll be getting a piece up at least once a week, hopefully.

Today we’re talking Lake Winnipesaukee, meaning something along the lines of: “Beautiful water in a high place”. One of the biggest freshwater lakes located in this area, home to smaller islands, privately owned islands, vacationers, and tourists alike.

It’s a really great place to go with family, with some pretty quaint little beaches where you can take a dip and cool off.

There’s a sweet little ferry that takes you to Wolfeboro, New Hampshire (the “oldest summer resort”) from Weirs Beach, New Hampshire. You can stay there for ~2 1/2 hours before taking a returning ferry back to Weirs Beach. It’s $32 per adult ticket, $16 per child ticket (12 and under), $80 for a family pack (two adults; two kids aged 12 and under).

Wolfeboro has a lot to do, too!! We kind of ventured away from the most tourist-hot places for lunch; instead, we opted for a local-favorite: Huck’s Hoagies. They had tons of sub options, vegetarian options (what I got), salads, pizzas, and more. Everything was well priced, most options flying under $10.

As for the rest of the town, there were many small outcrops overlooking the water, a candy shop (Penny’s candy shop), gift shops (Paper Store Black’s Gift Shop), tons of sweet little cafes and bistros, and a restaurant here and there. The entire place was essentially like one big downtown.

10/10!! See you all next week lovies ^_^

Love, C xx
